10 Things

I've had an especially stressful morning and as I sat around stewing on the negative, fellow blogger SouleMama posted 10 things that she is joyful about.  To brighten my own mood and lower my stress level, I though it might do me some good to dwell on the little things that are making me happy, right now. Here they are, in no particular order:

1. My daughter's new found affection for fabrics.

2. The fact that I finally picked a paint color for the master bedroom.

3. More eggplants growing=more eggplant parmesan.

4. My son's perpetually dirty toes.

5. Corndogs for lunch. They remind me of the circus.

6. The satisfaction of a new hobby.

7. My new Martha Stewart sewing encyclopedia, a gift from my mother in law.

8. My new old china hutch. My Grandma's dishes look beautiful and I'm glad to see them out.

9. Calendula Salve. It heals everything.

10. A handful of weeds in a mason jar. Perfect.

What's making you happy today?

  1. Joey's red cheeks when I have to get him out of bed. I woke up early enough to do full makeup, even eyeshadow, and I wore a blue dress. I'm extra sore, so when I'm sore I think I look thinner. I know, not true, but still, it makes me happy. :)

  2. Hi there, I like your post today. I love your photos too. I also recently took up knitting. I've posted my lengthy list of things to be happy about at http://snapthatpenny.blogspot.com/2010/06/today-i-am-thankful.html

  3. Hi Stepanie, thanks for stopping by and reading my list :-) and thank you for the complimenet on my dishcloths. This is pattern #2 (I've made the 6 in the photo). It is similar to another one I started with but doesn't have the "holes" around the edges. I got it from the back of a Bernat label when I purchased some yarn (and the variegated cotton colours are also from Bernat). I found this pattern on line...it is basically the same one and you can make it in any colour. http://knitting.about.com/od/christmaspatterns/p/bias_washcloth.htm

  5. I hope you are making out with the pattern. I've put my dishcloth making on temporary hold as I'm trying out crocheted doilies. When I get my second one made I will get back to dishcloths. I've found this site with lots of free patterns in case you would like to try some. http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/dishcloths.php
